British Citizenship and Naturalisation
If you are settled in the UK and intend to live here permanently you may wish to
become a British Citizen. In order to do so you must make an application to Naturalise.
Currently the laws on becoming a British Citizen are being review by the UK Borders
Agency and new legislation will come into force by 2011.
At this time depending if you have been in the UK for over 5 years legally, or 3 years if you gained permission to remain on the basis of your marriage to a British Citizen and you meet the formal requirements you could apply to become a British Citizen.
